We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper / Financial Manager to maintain accurate financial records, ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, and provide timely financial reporting to support informed decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent organization, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.


Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Financial Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in QuickBooks or other approved systems.

  • Record all financial transactions, including bank activity, credit card charges, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll entries.

  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly.

  • Provide timely and accurate financial reports to staff and the Board of Directors.

Reporting

  • Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, budget-to-actuals, and cash flow reports.

  • Assist in preparing financial materials for board meetings.

  • Provide guidance on nonprofit accounting best practices, internal controls, and compliance.

Preferred Experience: Tax Preparation & Compliance

  • Prepare and file annual IRS Form 990 and other required state filings.

  • Advise on tax and regulatory compliance matters affecting nonprofits.

  • Support year-end closing, audit preparation, and donor reporting needs.


Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills: Ability to interpret and analyze financial data accurately.

  • Technical proficiency: Experience with bookkeeping and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks), databases, and CRM systems.
